Have you never been to a Brothel before?
I can give you a little bit at a time so as not to scare you completely in regards to the whole goings on.
As you may not be aware the number of, girls allowed to work at brothels have changed from 5 working girls to 8 working girls. All this means is that this was changed and passed by Government last July without any asking from the girls, the ones who are actually effected by this change. The decision was made by Governmet, PLA and Brothel Owners, but the girls themselves who unfortunetly had no say in the matter at all. This is and has been a great contrubting factor to the decline of our income in the last year.
Most of the working girls who live and work in Queensland are not happy with this change at all and wish it to go back to the way it was originally. Brothel owners and those in the PLA thought it would allow girls to have rest periods throught the shifts when it was needed, instead it has made some of us work longer hours just to cover the same amount of money.
To the horror of the public most working girls on an eight hour shift are not even making $30 p/hr! This is a direct result of this change. I am getting out of the industry this year due to this and many other changes that maybe happening to our industry soon.
Will talk more later.

What are some things that are worth (and not worth) spending money on?
Submitted by pinejar.
Life goes by very fast these days and every cent does count but these three things are still worth spending on,
good shoes, underwear, and surprises for the family. Things not worth sending money on is money thats has already been lost, like taking someone to court to get it back. A bigger person lets go and moves on with life instead of try to fight to get it back.

It is important for sex workers to be clear that sexual assault is not a part of a sex worker’s job.
Sexual assault, or rape, is about violence, power and control - not sex or intimacy. Sex work is about providing a service (sex) in return for payment. Violence has no place in a sex worker’s work conditions. How you can help If another worker or a friend has been sexually assaulted or raped, you can offer help and support by taking the following steps: Get the victim to a safe place. Listen to the victim if they want to tell you what happened. Believe them. You don’t have to say anything back. Listening and being supportive can be enough. Do not judge, blame or criticise. They are not to blame. Please do not say: ‘Why didn’t you do this?" or "How did you let this happen?" Help to make contact with a sexual assault service. If they are having difficulty coping with the situation and seem lost or disillusioned, make sure they are not left alone until you have been able to get professional or trusted help. Support any decision that they have to make. They may need medical attention or want to report the assault to the police. It will be important to let them know that they are safe with you. Where do you consider home? Is it the place you grew up; the place you're currently living? Why is it home?
Submitted by uncagedbird.
Home is where you make it. I have lived in almost every major city in Australia and all have been great places to stay. My favourate is Perth. I currently live in Brisbane and have not decided to buy due to the fact I don't know if I want to stay and plant myself here or anywhere else for that fact. Again home is where you make it, with family it can make it easlier.

In almost every case, we know what is best for us in our lives, from the relationships we create to the food we eat. Still, somewhat mysteriously, it is often difficult to make the right choices for ourselves. We find ourselves hanging out with someone who leaves us feeling drained or choosing to eat fast food over a salad. We go through phases where we stop doing yoga or taking vitamins, even though we feel so much better when we do. Often we have no idea why we continue to make the less enlightened choice, but it is important that we inquire into ourselves to find out.
When we choose that which is not best for us, the truth can be that there is a deep seated part of us that does not want to heal. We may say it’s because we don’t have the time or the energy or the resources, but the real truth is that when we don’t take care of ourselves we are falling prey to self-sabotage. Self-sabotage happens unconsciously, which is why it’s so difficult to see that we are doing it. The important thing to realize is that this very part of us that resists our healing is the part that most needs our attention and love. Even as it appears to be working against us, if we can simply bring it into the light of our consciousness, it can become our greatest ally. It carries the information we need to move to the next level in our healing process. When we recognize that we are not making healthy choices, we might even say out loud, “I am not taking care of myself.” Sometimes this is the jolt we need to wake up to what is actually happening. Next we can sit ourselves down in meditation, with a journal, or with a trusted friend to explore the matter more thoroughly. Just shining the light of our awareness on the source of our resistance is sometimes enough to dispel its power. At other times, further effort is required. Either way, we need not fear these parts that do not want to heal. We only need to take them under our wing and bring them with us into the light.
